At Kivu Impact Center, we believe that empowering women is one of the most powerful drivers of economic and social transformation. In partnership with the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE DRC), we Supported a series of capacity-building sessions to equip women with the Pitching & negotiations skills, knowledge, and tools needed to build and grow sustainable enterprises.
Over several weeks, participants took part in interactive workshops focused on entrepreneurial leadership, personal initiative, digital skills, and business development. The sessions emphasized practical learning, from identifying business opportunities and managing finances to leveraging digital tools for visibility and market access. Each session created a collaborative environment where women could exchange experiences, share challenges, and learn from one another.
Beyond technical training, the program also fostered confidence and community. Many participants expressed how the sessions helped them rediscover their potential and clarify their vision as change makers in their communities. The workshops also connected them to a broader ecosystem of mentors, innovators, and support organizations dedicated to advancing women’s entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Through this partnership, Kivu Impact Center and AWE DRC demonstrated that capacity building is more than training, it’s about creating pathways to independence, innovation, and resilience. By combining KIC’s expertise in digital transformation with AWE’s proven entrepreneurship curriculum, we strengthened the foundations of inclusive growth in eastern Congo.
As we look ahead, Kivu Impact Center remains committed to expanding these opportunities, ensuring that more women and young entrepreneurs can access the resources, skills, and networks they need to thrive. Together with partners like AWE DRC, we continue to build a vibrant ecosystem where women’s ideas can grow into impactful enterprises that shape the future of the DRC’s economy.
